Green Smoothies are all the rage these days. It’s a great way to sneak in some extra veggies and all the nutrients that come along with them. The green part of the smoothie can be any vegetable, but I typically use spinach or kale.
My absolute favourite smoothie is Banana Kale. I just estimate the ingredient ratio, and it can change from day-to-day, but here is a rough guide if you’d like to make it yourself.
* Frozen bananas work best. They make the smoothie cool and refreshing as well as thicken the texture
* I usually buy a large quantity of bananas when they are on sale. After allowing them to ripen, I peel and chop them into smaller pieces and freeze in a container. You can also freeze your kale. Just make sure that it’s dry before freezing to prevent it from clumping together.
* The extra ingredients can literally be anything you like.
Here is the one I made today. Mmmmm it’s a good balance of bitter and sweet. Just the way I like it.
