Today I’m to share a little bit about my daily routine and what I eat on a typical day. Yesterday was a great day to prepare food at home because I had lots of time and it was a rainy day. Even if I don’t have time to prepare my meals throughout the day, I still eat home made leftovers.
I woke up at 10:00. I’m taking advantage of this vacation time and sleeping in! I used to feel guilty about staying in bed so late, but really, I’m just not a morning person. So why not? Soon I’ll have a schedule again and this luxury will be gone. hehe
I had a simple breakfast: a big glass of water and a banana
I didn’t want to eat too much because I was going to workout. I tried a P90X video from youtube. You can try it here They have a lot of the 10 minute videos. I did some more of my own exercises afterwards, bringing my total workout time to about 30 mins.
Then I really felt hungry! I got started on preparing my lunch.
For lunch I ate:
- fried tofu
- pea soup
I usually eat one fresh salad a day. Raw vegetables are fresh this time of year and they contain digestive enzymes that help your body digest your food. I made a miso-based dressing for the salad. The tofu was the black bean variety and was really tasty. I sprinkled some spices on them while frying. I know pea soup is not a very summery soup, but I had some split peas that I wanted to use up. I ate pea soup a lot as a child, so this brought back some memories.
Late afternoon I was ready for a snack. I made my favourite Banana Kale Smoothie with soy milk because I happened to have some in the fridge. Yummy
Then I met some friends in Hongdae for dinner. We were a little naughty and had dessert before dinner because we were near the Fell+Cole at Sangsu Station. I love this ice cream shop. They always have some dairy-free choices. All three of us had the Drunken Salted Watermelon flavour and it was delicious. It had a natural sweetness and was so refreshing. I don’t like super sweet things and try to avoid sugar in my diet, but I just can’t resist Fell+Cole. I will make a map of how to get there, it’s so worth it!
We wanted to have traditional, organic Korean food for dinner, and found the perfect restaurant, but they stopped serving dinner at 8:00 pm, so we had to find a new place. I want try it later thought. Luckily, right across the road there was another Korean restaurant. It didn’t have as many side dishes (my favourite part of the meal), but the food was really good. For dinner I had bibimbap and side dishes.
Then my friends met some other musicians to jam for a bit. I tagged along as their photographer and to enjoy the music. I just had one vodka-orange juice.
Even though I don’t have sugary food or alcohol often, I do occasionally. You have to live a little 😉 But, I did have a grumbly tummy late at night. I think I fell asleep at about 2:00 am. Woo Hoo! A fun Friday night.
Sorry about the blurry pictures. My iPhone 3G does the best that it can 😉
